Whiskey (Brewed #2)

I’m the Dixon who left.
Through the good, bad, and worst imaginable, I stayed gone.
When I return home after a decade, I’m not surprised by the cold reception from my family . . . or my brother’s best friend.
Emberly Olsen.
I spent my childhood tormenting her.
Now these days with her feel like the cruelest sort of unintended revenge.
We’ve changed.
She’s changed.
Pure confidence and sensuality, but her pouty lips and heavy-lidded eyes scream contempt. And word around town? She’s untouchable.
But after sharing a few drinks, her snide comments turn teasing.
Sneers become smiles.
Huffs change to laughs.
Laughs to moans, sweeter than any sound.
Years of animosity ignite into carnal need and passion.
We can blame it on the whiskey.
I have a feeling we’ll try.
But we aren’t that drunk.
Cayson Dixon. When Emberly hears that name, two things simultaneously happen, she cringes from the past tortures he put her through and…well, that’s part of the story and I can’t give that away.
Cayson is the brother who skipped town, we learn a lot about him in Fix, because Sawyer is the only brother to keep in touch with him. His story, is utterly heartbreaking. Cayson is a broken guy, kind of trying to mend what happened with his family and why he skipped town, but also sick of defending himself and honestly, he shouldn’t have to.
Between the two of them, Molly crushed my heart. I shed tears, but thankfully I also laughed and then right after that I was wishing people would choke. Between getting messages of me swooning over Cayson freakin Dixon and threatening these side characters, I don’t know how she kept up but she did and thank goodness for that because I don’t know what I’d have done if I couldn’t have talked to someone during this emotional roller coaster.
You’ve been warned, you need tissues, maybe alcohol of choice but definitely some candy to sooth your soul when she’s ripping it out. Y’all do not want to miss this next installment of the Dixon brothers. Trust. Me.

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornado’s. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.
