In a world of wealth and power, the rules of love and war are nothing as they seem.

Nora Randolph never wanted a life of luxury. But when her mother falls in love with the heir to the British throne, their small-town lives are uprooted and every little girl’s fantasy becomes her reality. All too quickly, she learns the dangers of running in circles with the world’s elite, especially when she attracts the attention of Winston Academy’s resident golden boy.

Asher Frederick has known nothing but favor and fortune. The son of London’s most influential family, his future has been written in stone since infancy. But a tragic childhood loss redirects his course, and revenge has been boiling in his blood for years. When innocent and unaware Nora lands in his path, it’s as if the universe hands him the ammunition to finally drag his enemy through the mud.

But as his plan for vengeance gets more twisted, so do his feelings for Nora. And as her immersion into the upper crust dives deeper, she struggles to keep the secret she’s been guarding for eighteen years.

Heavy lies the crown, and when the ultimate betrayal blindsides her, will either of them survive the consequences that come crashing down on their heads?

Oh man, what can I even say about this book? This is only my second Carrie Aaron’s book, but I loved it. I had a bit of trouble getting into it but that was totally me and my need to read in accents. You guys, brutish men and their accents, they’re so hot to me. Can I have an Asher to talk sweet nothings in my ear? I just love accents so much.

I felt for Nora, her entire life was uprooted, but it was made a little easier that she didn’t have friends. That also made me feel sad. And I’ve always known people can be cruel, but I guess we never really know just how cruel people can be until the hurt is already there. I was happy when she started coming out of her shell, but we knew Asher and his dad had something planned, much to Asher’s distaste for said plan in the end, he still goes through with it and it’s heartbreaking, for both of them. You can tell, once we get to that part, that he no longer wants to hurt Nora herself but still has that vengeance he wants to get.

It was definitely something I’ve never read before, but I loved it. Not just because of the accents, because I’m pretty sure I was hearing anything but British in my mind. It was amazing to see someone move from the states to London, to have to learn most things all over again. But I have to know, are us Americans weird for saying kissing or are British people weird for saying snogging? Aside from my question regarding that, some of the words I’ve learned were my favorite.

Now, I have Elite to read, so excuse me while I devour another Carrie Aaron’s book.

Hey all, welcome to my blog! I'm Meagan and I live in Central NY, I've been reading since I was 14 years old and it all started with James Patterson's 'Sam's Letters to Jennifer'. I took the book with me every where I thought I might have a second to read. It's been my go to book as well and I can't imagine what I would do if I never read that. When I'm not reading, which is almost never, you can find me watching my favorite shows which include Bones, Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, The Originals, Once Upon A Time, NCIS, The O.C. and Hawaii Five-O! When ever I start a book, I'm almost always instantly hooked, I will stay up all night reading if I can't put it down just so I know the happy ending. My favorite authors include Julie Prestsater, R.S. Grey, Leigh Talbert Moore, Jenn Sterling, P.C. and Kristen Cast, Richelle Mead, Lauren Kate, Gillian Flynn, Kandi Steiner, Brittainy C. Cherry, Staci Hart, Molly McAdams and James Patterson. I always love learning about new authors and talking books, if you'd like to get in touch, feel free to send me a DM on either instagram or facebook.
