*The next captivating installment in New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams’s Redemption series.*

As the Princess of the Irish-American Mob, there’s no shortage of men ready to help guard and protect me. To slowly suffocate me to the point of seeking freedom–a place where I can breathe.

Kieran Hayes has been saving me for as long as I can remember. It’s in his blood, and one of the many reasons I fell in love with him. Until my favorite trait became his biggest flaw, making me resent the man I love. An unwavering warrior, his love for me has been shrouded by those instincts.

Save Lily. Protect Lily. Hide Lily. Cage Lily.

What I wasn’t prepared for was Dare–the man who would set my world on fire with just one touch. He saw straight through to my soul, as though he knew I was desperate for freedom, and silently demanded my heart from the beginning.

And I didn’t expect Dare to be Demitri Borello–the reason for so many deaths in my family. A man who will take my life the moment he finds out who I am.

Despite it all, I’ll love him until that moment comes.

A fire will die if there is no oxygen for it to consume. Ours is rapidly stealing every last breath we can sacrifice to it.

Another day, another Molly book that hooked me with the first sentence of the prologue. Except I wasn’t skeptical to read this one. There is a very small connection to Blackbird in this book, somewhere in Blackbird you hear about the Irish-American mob, this is that book. Get ready to feel it all.

It’s been four years since Lily O’Sullivan, Princess to the the Holloway gang woke up to a dark room, knowing someone was in there and that it wasn’t Kieran, he was as silent as the night. Who ever was in her room was trying and failing at quieting their steps.
It’s been four years since Lily watched her brother Aric get shot by a Borello member and die. It’s been four years and she still wakes up in a cold sweat, screaming, wishing someone could have saved him. What’s interesting now is that Lily is remember things that happened, of course it’s from the nightmares that still plague her at night.

“One of the other rooms?”
“No. He said it was in here somewhere.”

What was it they were looking for? Who is he? Why was Aric not surprised to see members from the Borello gang in his sisters room?

Something about Fin and Bailey rubbed me the wrong way long before I ever read something from Fins mouth. Actually more than just those two, because even if she is a girl, she deserves to be in that room and, after all, it is the anniversary of her brothers death. Now I know mob members aren’t supposed to be nice but they could be a tiiiiiny bit more sympathetic, especially for someone like Lily, who has Nightshade as a boyfriend.
Kieran is a scary guy, silent as the night. Someone who doesn’t think knocking someone else out is the way to go about things. But my heart breaks for both Lily and Kieran, this isn’t the life they wanted. But because of what happened four years ago his life has revolved around one thing.

Save Lily. Protect Lily. Hide Lily. Cage Lily.

All she wants is to run away with him, but he knows if they leave, the Borello’s will follow and know she’s alive.  My heart aches every time she thinks about her past experiences with Kieran, or when she thinks of the broken promises, knowing they’ll never happen now.

“I never wanted the man who would pick a fight with the devil to bring me back to life. I never wanted a man who would lock me up and treat me like a prisoner instead of loving me as his girlfriend. I never wanted Nightshade, Kieran. I wanted you.

My heart continued to break every time Lily was with Kieran, trapped in the guest house or his old room in the house. You can feel it, she wants to be free and with Dare, he makes her feel free. At the same time, my heart broke for Kieran too, it was as if he didn’t know how to be her boyfriend, and I guess if you think about it, he really didn’t, he thought everything he was doing was clear as day to Lily, but when someone feels as trapped as Lily does..it’s so hard to understand.

Oh Dare, it’s hard to love him at first. You know he’s a Borello and that the Borellos killed Aric, but what I don’t understand is why he wants Lily dead so bad? What happened to him four years ago? Why is Johnny such a psycho? But I love his little family, regardless of them being Borello’s. I love Libby and Einstein and don’t get me started in on the twins.

I. Will. Fight. You.

“When I looked in that direction, I found Diggs hunched over the Island counter with a dopey grin as he watched us, with that massive sandwich falling apart between his hands.”

I seriously love Maverick and Diggs. And Libby and Einstein. They’re all the BEST. I love that this book doesn’t center around JUST Lily and Dare, you can see the love Dare has for his family. It’s obvious that Dare never wanted this life, be he took over because he had to and he’s making things better. I just hope it’s enough for Lily. I hope it’s enough for his family.

Diggs pretended to stab himself with the bowl.
“Dude, we spent all day setting it up. Let us impress the nerd with our fort making skills.”
“There’s food,” Maverick added.
“Dude, so much food,” Diggs said as he shoved more popcorn and his mouth.
“Did I say there was a fort? The whole theater room as a fort.“
A soft laugh sounded from the girl in my arms. “Didn’t you just eat?”
Maverick huffed. “Popcorn and candy, newbie. There’s always room for it.”

I love the twins, if I haven’t expressed that enough, they’re just so lovable. I know they can be lethal but damn, what I wouldn’t give to have them be my…uh friends, yeah my friends.
Aside from the twins being two of the best characters to ever grace this book, we all know what’s going to happen, right? Everyone dies in a giant blood bath. No no, I’m totally kidding.

Or am I?

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornado’s. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Hey all, welcome to my blog! I'm Meagan and I live in Central NY, I've been reading since I was 14 years old and it all started with James Patterson's 'Sam's Letters to Jennifer'. I took the book with me every where I thought I might have a second to read. It's been my go to book as well and I can't imagine what I would do if I never read that. When I'm not reading, which is almost never, you can find me watching my favorite shows which include Bones, Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, The Originals, Once Upon A Time, NCIS, The O.C. and Hawaii Five-O! When ever I start a book, I'm almost always instantly hooked, I will stay up all night reading if I can't put it down just so I know the happy ending. My favorite authors include Julie Prestsater, R.S. Grey, Leigh Talbert Moore, Jenn Sterling, P.C. and Kristen Cast, Richelle Mead, Lauren Kate, Gillian Flynn, Kandi Steiner, Brittainy C. Cherry, Staci Hart, Molly McAdams and James Patterson. I always love learning about new authors and talking books, if you'd like to get in touch, feel free to send me a DM on either instagram or facebook.
