[Formerly published as A Little Too Late]

For nine long months, I’ve been fighting to figure out how to be a single dad, how to be alone.

For nine long months, I’ve been failing.

When Hannah walked through the door, I took my first breath since I’d found myself on my own. She slipped into our lives effortlessly, showing me what I’ve been missing all these years. Because Hannah made me smile when I thought I’d packed the notion of happiness away with my wedding album.

She was only supposed to be the nanny, but she’s so much more.

The day my wife left should have been the worst day of my life, but it wasn’t. It was when Hannah walked away, taking my heart with her.

This book, it gave me ALL the feels. I don’t think I was even close to being done with A Thousand Letters before I was telling my friend that I needed a story for Charlie. I hated Mary, I still hate her, with a burning passion. I don’t think I have ever hated a character in one of the many books I’ve read as I do Mary. She is evil, in all ways. My friend and I even came up with a hashtag and t-shirts we wanted made, unfortunately it was too late as we wanted them for the Big Apple Author Event to show Staci. They would have said #KillMary #ANovelByStaciHart, I’m sure if it didn’t have the second part, someone would think we actually wanted some poor person named Mary to die.

Charlie is a good man, he tries as hard as he can to make his kids happy, I honestly don’t think there was anything that he could have done to make Mary happy and not be a lying thieving bitch. If you couldn’t tell, I hate Mary.

Staci has always blown me away with her words, she knows how to suck us all into her world and make us fall in love with all her main characters, Mary is not one. I actually had an on going conversation with Staci while I was reading about my husband, I mean about Charlie. I yelled at her, I argued with her and I told her a million times how much I love her.
Hannah, I love her. She is a sweet, caring, innocent human being just trying to find her way in life. I can relate to her in a lot of ways. Even though the first family didn’t work out, she decides to give it another go and ends up on Charlies door step. Two seconds is all it takes for her to know whether or not it will work out, its all about that internal feeling. You have to go with your gut, that should be all that matters when it comes to your career and life choices.

I love these two, so so much. I want them to have their happy ending but there are definitely some hurdles to jump over first. For Charlie, its Mary and his job. For Hannah, its the reason she left her last job and figuring out if she’s really happy. Don’t even get me started on these kids, they sound like the cutest little babes I’ve ever read in any book. I literally can not put into words how I feel for these kids.

Staci is not only amazing with her words, but she’s the type of author that makes you cry at a cat funeral (no, not this book), she makes you feel all those icky lovesick feelings you don’t want and makes you cry over the smallest things. She about ripped my heart in half and sewed it back together quite a few times with this book and I really can’t wait for you to read it.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom to three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, nor is she the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party–especially if she’s been drinking whiskey–and her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north in Denver, where snow is magic and the mountains have become home. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, gaming, or designing graphics.

Hey all, welcome to my blog! I'm Meagan and I live in Central NY, I've been reading since I was 14 years old and it all started with James Patterson's 'Sam's Letters to Jennifer'. I took the book with me every where I thought I might have a second to read. It's been my go to book as well and I can't imagine what I would do if I never read that. When I'm not reading, which is almost never, you can find me watching my favorite shows which include Bones, Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, The Originals, Once Upon A Time, NCIS, The O.C. and Hawaii Five-O! When ever I start a book, I'm almost always instantly hooked, I will stay up all night reading if I can't put it down just so I know the happy ending. My favorite authors include Julie Prestsater, R.S. Grey, Leigh Talbert Moore, Jenn Sterling, P.C. and Kristen Cast, Richelle Mead, Lauren Kate, Gillian Flynn, Kandi Steiner, Brittainy C. Cherry, Staci Hart, Molly McAdams and James Patterson. I always love learning about new authors and talking books, if you'd like to get in touch, feel free to send me a DM on either instagram or facebook.
