*This is a short story, a little over 11,000 words. It is a ‘sequel’ to Choose Us.

This is a cute continuation of Travis and Riley’s relationship, kind of just a long epilogue, but not a long story. They’re getting married and it’s days before the wedding so why wouldn’t life throw a few obstacles their way? I love love love this couple, I think any friends to lovers book is a high favorite for me and always will be.

If you’re looking for more sweetness from Travis and a bit of steam you’ll definitely find it here! However, like stated above this book is not long at all, I don’t think it took more than an hour to finish this. That being said I was still happy to have this little continuation and to see these two get married. I do wish she would have added a bit more to it, like a few years down the road to when babies are born. But, beggars can’t be choosers and I’m happy with this.

Born and raised in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin, Caylie fell in love with reading at a young age. With her lively imagination, she created numerous stories in her head throughout her childhood and teenage years.

Her first novel, Choose Us, released in April 2014.

When she isn’t slaving away at the keyboard, Caylie is an avid reader, and lover of coffee… copious amounts of coffee. She also has an unhealthy addiction to coffee mugs, chapstick, water bottles, football, and tv shows–binge watching is her favorite.

She chases her two kids around the house all day, and has a husband who is her complete opposite, which makes for a lively household. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Choose Us (Xtreme Bachelor #1) by Caylie Marcoe [Review]

Choose Us (Xtreme Bachelor #1)
Caylie Marcoe
April 2, 2014

Riley Logan and Travis Grayson have been best friends for the last fifteen years. She would do anything for him, go anywhere for him…and she has, countless times.

Except now.

Now he’s asking for too much. Their friendship has reached a breaking point and she doesn’t know how to go back. But as Travis’ personal assistant, Riley spends her every waking moment by his side.

When a fractured ankle puts Travis’ BMX career on hold he’s given more downtime than he knows what to do with. Always one for excitement, he agrees to become the bachelor on a televised dating show, but only if Riley goes in undercover to help weed through the girls.

What was supposed to be eight weeks of freedom has turned into eight weeks of hell surrounded by desperate girls all vying for Travis’ attention. He promised her the show would be smooth sailing. He promised he would listen to her advice on which girls should be eliminated. But now he’s breaking those promises and getting way too close to the girl Riley despises the most. She shouldn’t care. Except she does. Much to her surprise there is one girl she wants Travis to choose…

Her.

Will she get what she wants, or will Riley lose her best friend along with getting her heart broken on national television?

Riley would do anything for Travis, he is her best friend after all.

But when he asks her to do a reality show, she wants to say no, she really does. Of course in the end Riley goes under cover as a contest vying for Travis’ love, while secretly telling him who she thinks needs to be sent home.

As time goes on, feelings start to come to the surface and more drama is added to the show. I mean, with it being a reality show described like The Bachelor/The Bachelorette, what else can we expect? This story was full of drama and angst. I laughed, shed a couple tears and screamed along with Riley.

Caylie Marcoe blew my mind with this story, I loved it beginning to end. What seemed like a perfect friendship, a perfect life, quickly changes when love is involved.

Behind the Stars (Complete Series) by Leigh Talbert Moore [Review]

Behind the Stars
Leigh Talbert Moore
November 9, 2014

“Prentiss Puckett is certain of three things:
-Graduation is two weeks away.
-Summer only gets hotter in south Mississippi.
-She’s getting a job with air-conditioning.
She did not expect to be kidnapped walking to work.
And she never expected to become a hero.”

Red Dawn meets L O S T in this new action-adventure romance from Amazon bestselling author Leigh Talbert Moore.

**This is a review of the whole serial, not individually!

Dabb Creek was a little town in Mississippi with less then a thousand people, strangers never stopped there. Until, one day Prentiss was late for work and in the blink of an eye, everything went black. When Prentiss awakens, she finds her self stuck in what seems to be an old summer camp. Surprisingly, she wasn’t freaked out, but she felt emotionless, and her brain calm. The one word that formed in the back of her mind: Controlled. As she scoped out the room, she recognized many faces around her, including her brother, Braxton and friend D’Lo. The captors say they mean no harm, that this is a temporary holding, they are to work on the farm, and it will supply their food.

As things progress in part two, things click easier and make more sense. This isn’t something I normally read but it definitely caught my attention and after the first few pages I was sucked in completely, I needed to know what happens.

In most of the books I read, there are the bad guys and then the bad guys that are actually not so bad, and the good guys that are actually… not good, and that’s the case with this book as well.

Leigh does an amazing job of sucking you in and making you fall for someone who is supposed to be the enemy. It’s amazing the feelings that I felt while reading this and it was different to read this type of genre.

In An Instant by Adrienne Torrisi [Review]

In An Instant
Adrienne Torrisi
June 30, 2016

Bright lights pierce the pitch black road, and the sounds of screeching tires and crunching metal echo in my ears. I’m in a car with everyone that I love—my best friends; my boyfriend; and Jake, who has been like a brother to me since we were five, though I’ve always secretly loved him. But none of that registers. How much I could lose doesn’t even cross my mind. Instead, time slows, stops even, and everything is a blur…

Dani Conner’s life is nearly perfect. It’s her senior year, and it’s not an understatement to say her tight-knit group of friends rule the school and the basketball court, including her incredible boyfriend Marcus. But she is in love with Jake, her boyfriend’s best friend and her best friend’s boyfriend. Luckily, her feelings for him are safely buried where they belong … until they aren’t, and in an instant, an accident changes everything.

Everything can change in an instant. One minute you can be laughing and having the time of your life with your best friends and the next minute the car you’re in can be upside down, the person next to you missing and the driver saying your boyfriend isn’t doing good. You could sit there in the back seat of the car, telling your best friend to live a little, that everything will be fine and the next she could be unconscious, not understanding that her boyfriend didn’t get out of the car to help you guys, he was thrown through the windshield because he was the lucky one to be in the middle. One minute the feelings you have for someone that is not your boyfriend could be a secret, the relationship you’re having with him hidden, the next your entire group of friends know. One minute you can be celebrating a distract championship win with your friends, the next second, one could be dead another in critical condition and you don’t know who makes it and who doesn’t. Maybe even you won’t make it.

That’s what life is like for Daniella and her group of friends. They’re called the elite group, the popular crowd. Nice to everyone but they don’t let anyone else in. Dani’s life changed in an instant, the blink of an eye, everything seems to be perfect and then she hears the sound of crunching metal and wakes up with blood dripping down her head and the car is upside down.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to have everything in my life change like that. I could not imagine what it would be like to lose one of my best friends, all because of some stupid race down a road no one ever uses. Why was someone actually going down that road on that specific night? Why didn’t anyone see them in time? Why did someone have to die?
Through the entire book I was asking myself these questions, trying to figure out how I would feel if this had happened to me in high school or at any time in my life and I don’t know how I would ever react. Just the thought of my life changing in such a quick second, in an instant like Dani’s scares me, I’ll admit it. I don’t think anyone wants their life to change so fast in such a bad way.

I started this book at 11 in the morning July 4th and I finished it by 9 that night, that is how good this book is, it gave me all the damn feels a book can. Different from Adrienne’s other books, but not by much. If you have read her others you will definitely love this one and if you haven’t you should give all of them a chance.
